Name: Melissa Irish
Hometown: Yonkers NY but live in Atlanta GA now
Brief Bio (add some info about yourself, no links that’s at bottom, tell people about you in a few sentences)
I’m a feisty Piscean, I’m passionate about life & helping others,I’m brutely honest, outspoken & quite comedic lol
1.) I remember when I first got into the business you were already making a name for yourself. That was 8 years ago. When did you get started in the entertainment business. How did you
I used to do party promotions in NY & I was approached to do a calendar shoot for Cruzan Rum, I thought I was too short & too thick to model so I was iffy but with my friends support I did it, I didn’t think I would like it but low & behold I loved it & decided that I wanted to do eye candy, print modeling
2.) You went from model to blogger, to radio show host and promo queen, how have you managed
to transition so seamlessly?
Blogging was easy cause I like to write, Radio host was always a passion of mine so it was easy along with all the connections made thru modeling, promotion & blogging kinda goes hand in hand cause I just like to put the spotlight on others, I’ve always been popular even before I was in the industry so whatever I wanted to do, I just did it
3.) After you retired from modeling you transitioned to natural hair and a more natural look. How did that come about? Do you ever miss looking like the glamour girl?
I’ve always, been natural, I just wore weaves & wigs, I decided to just wear my own natural hair because it’s healthier for my hair, I’m glamorous regardless,I just don’t wear makeup & a bunch of fake hair anymore lol
4.) What have you found to be the key to longevity and staying relevant ?
Staying Humble, Focusing on my goals
5.) You’ve worked in radio for years, you’ve done Dyme Life radio and a show on That’sHipHop.com and now Uni Hip Hop. Please tell us more about Uni Hip Hop and your role with the station.
Unihiphopradio is a hiphop show with a few segments, my role as I’m the oldest & have had the most life experiences #TalkingwithMelissa & I just basically address topics of life, love, sex etc because as you I have an opinion on everything lol
6.) Over the years you’ve had the opportunity to work with so many people. Who has been the most influential over your career?
I can’t name a single person cause in all honesty I bust my ass to get where I am
7.) The modeling game has changed so much from when you got started. What advice would you give to an aspiring eye candy model today?
I would say don’t do it, it’s a bunch of bogus b.s., it’s not respected anywhere & you have better luck being a stripper
8.) What do you turn to for peace away from the internet and work?
Netflix, I love Netflix & some Henny & of course my herbal lol
9.) You’ve done so much what’s left? Where do you see your career in 5 years?
I see me on major TV or Radio in the next 5 yrs & don’t be surprised if you see me on the big screen either
10.) Where can people find more of you?
Also every Thursday on UniHipHop Radio 10pm est on the social hr radio via the live365 app
I’d like to thank you for this interview, I’m greatly appreciative, Blessings
